My Story
Leading diverse teams and handling key projects in multi-dimensional geographies across 48 cities spanning 4 states in India, helped me understand the need for analyzing factors such as market parameters and consumer behavior before launching a marketing campaign. That was my first tryst with the application of analysis to effectively aid business decisions. My formal education in IT and Business Administration, and professional exposure in sales and marketing have helped me assess and understand my strengths. As I now appreciate Business Analytics as the backbone of business strategy, I eventually aim to place myself among the decision-makers determining the tide of business around the globe.
Working across multiple cities and leading big teams (approx. size of 52) made me realize what drives me the most at work are the people I work with/for. For my reportees’ I can be the strongest advocate yet a confident leader who can be very effective in managing diverse teams and difficult situations.
Though I have worked in marketing, sales and have an MBA in Marketing and Strategic Management, it was my technical acuity that helped me stand out as a business professional. The analytical thought process cultivated over the years through the demanding curriculum of my undergraduate and graduate education was instrumental in my success during my academic pursuit and professional career path. It forms the underlying foundation of my tech-savviness.
I have always been amazed by the kind of products being marketed to the consumers - some brilliant and some ill-equipped for the market. Today this approach is data analytics based and not based on the intuition of the marketers. I am intrigued by the novel approaches in marketing and advertising analytics taken by companies. My work experience in the retail sector has allowed me to understand the nuances of it. I want to continue to work as a Marketing/Business data analyst at the companies operating within the same sector.
