Top 200 Weekly charts of Spotify (2020 & 2021)

Approach:

• Used SQL for initial data cleaning and wrangling. Multiple linear regression analysis to identify significant relationships

• Used Machine learning models such as regression to get more accurate predictions based on new data

• Target variables were Total streams and Popularity Index

Result: Artist and Genre major explainers when Target variable was the number of streams

Insights:

• The data would help third party Producers looking to work with artists based on their Spotify popularity index

• Artists should optimize the no of streams they have as Artists' total payout is based on the number of streams as a % of the total streams on the respective streaming platforms
